The Citadel Silver Trick is a technique used to transfer silver between two accounts efficiently without paying taxes. It’s a well-known and allowed mechanic within the game, as long as both players belong to the same clan or alliance and no external tools are used.
The method relies on timing attacks on an Elven Citadel and later replacing it with a Portal.
Here’s the simplified sequence:
1.Player A (Receiver) - the account that will receive the silver - selects an Elven Citadel to attack, but does not speed up the march.
2.Player B (Donor) - the account with silver - also attacks the same Citadel, but this time uses speed-ups to reach and destroy it first.
3.Once Player B’s troops return, they send all their troops to the Clan Stronghold (leaving the city empty) and open a portal in the exact same location where the Citadel was.
4.Player A then accelerates the pending march, and since the Citadel no longer exists, their army will attack the Portal instead.
2.The attack on the Portal transfers the silver automatically without any troop losses or breaking peace shields.
Suppose you want to transfer 150M silver:
-Choose a Citadel level 10, which is easy to destroy with minimal losses.
Player A (receiver) can simulate an attack on another city first to adjust troop composition and carrying capacity.

Use captains like Stror (with the Pickaxe artifact) or Tengel (with the Drum artifact) to boost march speed and carrying load.
Player A sends troops to the chosen Citadel without using speed-ups yet.

Player B attacks the same Citadel and destroys it completely.

After returning, Player B empties their city (keeping basic resources within warehouse protection) and adjusts silver balance - in this case, leaving +8M extra protected silver in addition to the 150M to be transferred.
Player B opens a portal on the destroyed Citadel’s location.

Player A accelerates their march - the army now attacks the portal instead of the Citadel and collects the silver successfully.

-This process works under Peace Shield, since the original march is directed at a Citadel (a PvE target).
-It’s important to coordinate carefully to avoid mistakes - if the Citadel isn’t destroyed or the portal is delayed, the march could fail.
-Always double-check your cargo capacity before sending the army.
